Akwadyne®
- Akwadyne nylon, developed by Comfort Technologies, transports moisture and thermoregulates by a chemical principle known as electrochemical transport. The Akwadyne process involves chemically modifying nylon fibers, resulting in a permanent treatment which cannot be removed by laundering. In warm temperatures the fabric responds electrostatically, moving moisture and excessive heat from the body to the surface of fabric to keep the wearer cooler and drier. In cooler weather the fabric adjusts to trap heat while releasing moisture to keep the wearer warm, dry and comfortable. Unlike fabrics that rely on capillary action, Akwadyne does not need to be worn close to the skin to work.
