WHAT IS PRIMALOFT?
PrimaLoft is a patented synthetic microfiber thermal insulation material that was developed by the Albany International Corporation for the United States Army in the 1980’s.

The Army requested an alternative to goose down insulation, which is not effective when wet. PrimaLoft is as warm as down, compressible and offers superior water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable even under the most extreme conditions. Patented PrimaLoft ultra-fine microfibers are specially treated in a proprietary process, creating a core with incredible insulation properties. PrimaLoft has expanded its product line and developed new products to meet specific needs for outdoor enthusiasts, sportsmen, and the military.

PrimaLoft® One is the ultimate microfiber insulation. Ultra fine fibers are specially treated in a patented process and then combined into an insulating core that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water resistant. PrimaLoft One absorbs 3 times less water, is 14% warmer when dry and is 24% warmer when wet than the competitive insulation. PrimaLoft insulates your body to keep it comfortable and conserve energy even in extreme cold.

PrimaLoft® Sport is the perfect combination of high performance insulation and value. This technology combines ultra-fine and multi-diameter fibers for specific performance characteristics. The specially treated ultra-fine fibers help to form a water resistant insulating structure, while the multi-diameter fibers help to build loft.

PrimaLoft® Footwear technology combines ultra-fine and multi-diameter fibers in a specially engineered process that works with the structure of the boot to help keep feet warm and dry. Together the fibers form a strong, resilient, breathable and water resistant insulating core.

PrimaLoft® Eco is earth-friendly insulation created for performance and comfort. Eco insulation technology combines 50% recycled material with PrimaLoft virgin fibers to create a high loft, thermally efficient insulation. PrimaLoft Eco is lightweight and water resistant with superior softness.

PrimaLoft® Yarn is an optimal blend of PrimaLoft fibers and soft Merino wool which makes the yarn the ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts who demand performance and comfort.
