Sensura
starts out softer, which differentiates it from natural fibers and today's
synthetics. It needs lower heat for dyeing and finishing, so there's no
stiffening of the fibers in the process.
The result is an inherently soft, drapable fabric. It takes less dyestuff,
less energy, and less water in the production. Sensura is the first synthetic
fiber that has the feel of the real.

Sensura was given a higher softness rating than combed cotton and multiple
staple length polyester in both expert and general panel hand-rating tests.
It has a gentle, soothing-on-the-skin feel that's perfect for everything
from casual sportswear to childrenswear to hosiery to eveningwear.
As soft as it is, it's strong
on performance. Sensura dries measurably faster than cotton, and
it's up to speed with extreme high-tech fibers, too. It moves perspiration
through the microclimate between skin and clothing, transporting it to
the surface where it evaporates. So skin never gets clammy, and never
gets chilled. It's ideal for active sports, Sunday sports, and weekend
wear.

Co-polymer Technology:
 Sensura
is a co-polymer of polyester, which utilizes a patented advancement that
embraces a new and innovative body of chemistry for producing synthetic
fibers.
Wellman’s exceptional
family of next generation fibers, developed from this technology (i.e.
ComFortrel XP®, Sensura®, ComFortrel Plus®, and Spunnaire®)
are made into fabrics that have a gentle hand, are easy to dye, have an
inherent moisture transport ability, excellent abrasion resistance, dimensional
stability, exceptional color-fastness, and are atmospherically dyeable.
Wellman’s long-term goal is to create other variants within the boundaries
of the patent that will qualify as new generic fibers.
Utilizing unique, patented
co-polymer designs, Wellman can now provide the hosiery industry with
fibers that provide new aesthetic and performance properties for socks.
